FireFit European Championships
The sporting spectacle at INTERSCHUTZ continues: Firefighters from all over the world will be competing in Hannover at the FireFit European Championships.
Action & adrenaline will be on offer on all days
Outdoor Area | Stand S148 (Entrance OST – between Halls 7–9)
On Monday and Tuesday, anyone aged 16 and over can test the course during the Rookie Runs or complete their first qualifying heats for the European Championship.
Additional qualification heats will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Friday and Saturday, the fastest firefighters in Europe will compete in the finals for the championship titles.
On all days, the FireFit course will be open to all interested firefighters from 10 am to 4 pm. in the outdoor exhibition area. Starting slots must be booked online in advance. Subject to availability, on-site registration for spontaneous runs may also be possible. On the European Championship days, the competitions, including the award ceremonies, will continue until 5 pm. Something for every fitness level
You can compete individually, in tandem or in a relay with three to five members.
The relay is a great way for sporty people to get into firefighting. Team spirit is required here and the cheers are loud. The breathing apparatus is worn "loosely" on the back - there is no mask or breathing air connection.
The individual run is regarded as the supreme discipline because it really demands everything from the starter while wearing breathing protection. (Picture Source: Hanno Meier)
