The advantages of skid modules are obvious: the small and manoeuvrable units can quickly get to the deployment site. The compact units can be loaded onto pick-up trucks and UTVs and can also reach locations in difficult and rough terrain. This is particularly important in the early stages of a fire. During ongoing operations, the skid units provide valuable services, as they can be deployed immediately in response to reports of spot fires and flying embers. During reconnaissance and patrols, immediate intervention is possible when incipient fires are sighted.
The skid units are designed so that basic components such as the tank, pump and storage spaces are easily accessible and sensibly positioned in relation to the physical centre of gravity. At the same time, they offer a high degree of individual flexibility in terms of loading. This starts with the size of the tank, which is available with capacities of 350 and 500 litres. The skid unit comes with a 4-stroke normal pressure pump as standard. On the outlet side, operation is possible either via a Storz D outlet or a Storz C outlet. It is also possible to install a high-pressure pump with a combustion engine and reel for high-pressure hoses.
Customised configuration
The configuration for storing pressure hoses is tailored to customer requirements. Several options are available for carrying tools, equipment and PPE: you can choose between a platform for storing standard Euroboxes and a completely enclosed metal box with a lid. Depending on the equipment variant selected, there are custom-made tarpaulins for weather protection.
Müller Safety Skid Units are available in various sizes and equipment variants. The differences lie in the tank volumes, the pumps and the optionally available accessories.
