The terrain rescue service is an operational component that we form together with the Rodenberg fire department. Emergency medical services are a dynamic institution in our society, designed to help people who need assistance due to a medical emergency. This dynamic refers to the number and type of rescue resources required, based on hard facts. One such dynamic fact is that rescue resources need to reach locations where emergencies frequently occur. Changes in professional and leisure activities in our society have led to an increasing number of emergencies in nature. This includes forests, mountains, fields, and lakes. In these types of terrain, it is often no longer possible to reach people in distress with an ambulance without endangering the ambulance and its personnel, let alone locating the patient in the first place, because nature doesn't have house numbers.
