At the BMFTR booth, trade visitors gain exciting insights into current projects of the “Research for Civil Security” programme: a new system for contactless monitoring of vital signs, a decision support system for emergency nutrition planning, as well as drones for locating avalanche victims or identifying forest fire sources. In addition, they receive information on funding opportunities and implementation prospects for deploying new technologies in firefighting, rescue services, and civil protection.
Since 2007, the ministry has been supporting practical innovations to enhance the safety of citizens. The focus is on digital technologies, innovative operational equipment, AI-supported situation analysis, decision support, and prevention. More than 500 research projects with partners from science, industry, authorities, and aid organizations have already been funded.
