For tasks that go beyond traditional use cases
Technical assistance and logistical tasks are increasingly shaping the day-to-day operations of fire departments. At INTERSCHUTZ 2026, Schäffer Maschinenfabrik will showcase its wide range of loader solutions for fire departments, civil protection, and disaster response at Booth F80. The focus is on solutions designed to meet the evolving demands of emergency operations.
This is precisely where Schäffer loaders come into play. Thanks to their versatility and extensive range of attachments, they can handle tasks far beyond traditional operational scenarios. Whether unloading crashed trucks, transporting hazardous materials, or quickly clearing incident sites after severe weather, they make a vital contribution to managing the situation—often under time pressure and in chaotic conditions. They also provide valuable support in the daily operations of emergency responders during drills, when moving vehicles, or when handling roll-off containers.
Their strengths are particularly evident in disaster response. Increasingly frequent large-scale disasters, such as those caused by flooding, require flexible logistics solutions. Schäffer loaders perform key tasks in these situations, such as transporting flood retention systems, filling sandbag stations, or distributing sandbags—even under difficult conditions. At the same time, they are used in firefighting operations, for example, to pull apart or remove burning debris.
A key advantage lies in the design: The elevated, central seating position provides excellent all-around visibility and ensures greater safety during operation. The high fording depth expands the range of applications during flooding, while the articulated joint ensures maneuverability in tight spaces. In addition, compact models are available for use in warehouses or underground parking garages. In addition to performance, reliability is a standout feature. Especially for organizations with limited operating hours, machines must function at all times in an emergency—even after many years. Schäffer loaders are designed precisely to meet these requirements and have proven their robustness time and again.
As a family-owned company with a high degree of vertical integration, Schäffer stands for quality “Made in Germany.” The high proportion of in-house manufacturing ensures quality standards and allows for customization directly from the factory—tailored precisely to the needs of fire departments and disaster response teams.
At Interschutz 2026, Schäffer will be showcasing, among other things, the 6680 T telescopic wheel loader in a special fire department configuration—complete with a protective ventilation system and custom paint finish—at booth F80 in the northern outdoor exhibition area. The loader combines the compactness of a wheel loader with the lifting height and reach of a telescopic loader.
The portfolio is complemented by the 5470 Z wheel loader for civil defense, the 2445 S wheel loader for disaster response units, and the highly compact 1622 multifunctional loader. The machines on display highlight the versatility of modern loader technology across a wide range of applications.
