Focus on Special-Purpose Vehicles and Container Modules
The family-owned company Göbel has long been established in the commercial vehicle industry as a recognized specialist in interchangeable systems and custom-built special-purpose vehicles. In addition to a wide range of pneumatic and mechanical lift models as well as hydraulic lift containers, the company has increasingly focused in recent years on vehicle bodies for the firefighting, rescue, and disaster response sectors.
The Exhibits: Vehicles & Modules
Thanks to its established expertise and new product lines centered on specialized response systems, the Aschaffenburg-based company will showcase a selection of its latest vehicle bodies and modular systems for the emergency services sector at INTERSCHUTZ 2026.
Among the exhibits from Göbel is the Equipment Vehicle Logistics (GW-L1), designed for firefighting operations, built on an Iveco EuroCargo ML150E28WS chassis. The vehicle is equipped in accordance with industry standards and features, among other things, a special signal system mounted on the roof console (including a branch deflector) with front headlights, as well as a pneumatically extendable light mast with a light bridge. It also features a tail lift with a split platform and a load capacity of 1,500 kilograms. The interior is equipped with a workbench and shelving with Euro boxes, a control cabinet with power outlets, a handheld radio, and an auxiliary heater.
Another exhibit is the Type 4 crew truck (MLW 4) built for the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) on a MAN TGM 18.290 chassis. Its equipment includes a flashing light bar with a deflector on the roof console, a tail lift, a toolbox for storing customer-specific equipment, and a rear roof bar with lights. The LED-lit interior consists of a crew compartment with a second row of seats, a console with handsets, a radio, and a boom microphone.
As a certified bodybuilder for Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Unimog, Göbel develops Unimog models equipped with special equipment, available in single or double cab configurations. Among the versatile rescue vehicles is, for example, the Logistics Equipment Vehicle (GW-L) designed for extreme off-road use. An equipment vehicle based on a Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 5023 4x4 was specially built for the fire department. Outstanding features of the logistics body with torsion-free mounting include a support console with brake connections and power outlets, as well as shackles on the rear cross member. The body with a sliding tarp features a pneumatically extendable light mast with a light bridge, as well as a vertical lift with a load capacity of 1,500 kilograms and a foldable railing. Another Unimog with a swap system and module, as well as an MB ZETROS as a swap loader, round out the vehicle exhibits for the fire department.
Container Modules for Emergency Situations
In the field of response systems for fire departments and disaster management, Göbel is showcasing the new “Roll-Off Container for Cultural Heritage Protection,” which was recently developed for the Bavarian State Archives. The DIN 14405 container is particularly well-suited for situations in which valuable cultural assets are threatened by fires, floods, or other disasters. The new product features a mounting system compatible with all standard swap body vehicles, a six-meter-long awning, and an external cleaning area on both the left and right sides. The roll-off container includes connections for power supply and vehicle coupling, as well as an IP67-rated outlet for the external cleaning area.
The INTERSCHUTZ 2026 exhibition will also feature the robust and functional “Evacuation” and “Flood Protection” interchangeable modules, which have already proven themselves in the field. Göbel designed these as 10-foot containers with corner castings for twist-lock fasteners for use in disaster response operations. The “Evacuation” module is designed to rescue people from flood-affected areas. It can accommodate up to eight seated persons and is ROPS and FOPS certified. The containers in the “Flood Protection” series, on the other hand, primarily serve as mobile storage for five ATP 15 RL and ATP 20 RB submersible pumps and are equipped with a BSKA 14 emergency power generator as well as various equipment items required for deployment. All technical equipment is stored in two lockable equipment rooms. The container can be electrically coupled to a carrier vehicle.
