Perfect fire suppression thanks to flexibly adaptable 3D models
CeaseFire is expanding its digital product catalog with 3D BIMcatalogs.net technology from CADENAS. Among other things, the new service from CeaseFire is to enable users to import native 3D BIM CAD data from fire safety components directly into Autodesk Revit.21 Aug 2019 Trendspots Editorial Office
For planners, architects and engineers, the quality of digital data, such as BIM and CAD models, is just as important for their procurement processes as providing a native download service. According to a survey, 77 percent of engineers say that being able to download native product models is important when selecting the appropriate component. Another factor that must not be underestimated when it comes to choosing a component is that planners should be able to find the required part quickly and easily, configure the native model, download it and test it in their design. Manufacturers that offer comprehensive customer service and high-quality native CAD and BIM downloads are thus the clear favorite for architects, planners and engineers. CeaseFire, a U.S. manufacturer of fire suppression systems, has now made life even easier for Autodesk Revit users with its new native download service. Architects and planners can insert products from the CeaseFire parts catalog - which is based on BIMcatalogs.net technology from German software specialist CADENAS - directly into their plans as 3D BIM CAD data.
BIMcatalogs.net connects component manufacturers such as CeaseFire to more than 18 million architects, engineers, buyers and planners on over 94 online marketplaces and communities. The CeaseFire product catalog offers users components in various levels of development (LODs) to suit their individual needs. Users can easily adapt a 3D BIM model to specific requirements via the integrated product configurator’s dropdown menu. Depending on the planning phase, they can select the type of connection, level of development and level of detail before the 3D BIM CAD data is generated on the fly. The 3D visualization also gives CeaseFire customers the option of virtually testing the fire suppression systems before downloading. CADENAS points out that these interactive images are updated in real time and are an exact replica of the configured product.
