Fire truck bids farewell to combustion engine
Even better driving dynamics, higher performance in pure electric mode, greater safety, and environmentally friendly to boot: the PANTHER electric from Rosenbauer combines the strengths of the legendary flagship of the Rosenbauer fleet with the advantages of e-mobility.

Where race cars and motorcycles normally do their laps, in spring 2025, for a change, the focus was on a fire truck: At the “PANTHER electric Experience” at the Salzburgring, Rosenbauer presented the fully electric flagship of the Rosenbauer fleet, the PANTHER electric, to 300 customers, sales partners, and representatives from airports around the world. They had the opportunity to test the PANTHER electric extensively, learn about other new products, and engage in intensive discussions.
Model RT as another fully electric firefighting vehicle
The test drives at the Salzburgring were the highlight of the PANTHER electric Experience. Participants from all over the world were able to experience the advantages of e-mobility firsthand under the guidance and control of experienced Rosenbauer employees.
The Revolutionary Technology (RT) was another fully electric firefighting vehicle available for testing. The RT performed short driving maneuvers to demonstrate its small turning circle in a practical setting.
Better acceleration and top speed
The PANTHER electric unleashes its full power in pure electric mode, achieving better acceleration and top speed than a conventionally powered vehicle – with significantly reduced CO2 emissions. Acceleration from 0 to 80 kilometers per hour is achieved well below the required 25 seconds.
The maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour is also achieved purely electrically. In “Boost Mode,” in which the drive motors are powered not only by the high-voltage batteries but also by the Energy Backup System, an impressive 880 kilowatts are available instead of the already generous 720 kilowatts, providing even better acceleration. In this mode, the vehicle reaches 80 kilometers per hour from a standing start in less than 20 seconds.
Not only the drive is electric
The PANTHER electric was developed to handle daily operations without compromise. In addition to its dynamic driving performance thanks to four electric drive motors, the firefighting water pump is also purely electric. The high-voltage batteries provide enough energy to handle several typical operations (travel to the scene, firefighting, return trip) on a single battery charge.
Charging capacity of up to 300 kilowatts
This not only meets the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the Federal Aviation Administration, but significantly exceeds them. Thanks to a charging capacity of up to 300 kilowatts, the PANTHER electric's batteries can be charged extremely quickly, restoring operational readiness.
To ensure continuous operation and unrestricted deployability of the vehicle, an energy backup system is also installed in the vehicle. The firefighting system performance (pump, foam proportioning, monitor) is the same as that of the conventionally powered PANTHER.
