The most effective protection against fires is to prevent them from starting in the first place. Fire Prevention helps keep the risk as low as possible. At a dedicated exhibition focus area, exhibitors at INTERSCHUTZ 2026 in Hanover (1-6 June) will present their technologies and innovative concepts.

In view of generally increasing demands in the field of fire protection – in Germany, across Europe and worldwide – the range of products and services offered by exhibiting companies at INTERSCHUTZ has also expanded. Fire prevention must constantly adapt: to modern construction methods, new regulations, larger and highly complex buildings, and denser development, particularly in metropolitan areas.

In Halls 12 and 13, suppliers of extinguishing technology and extinguishing agents will be exhibiting alongside companies from the construction sector and the field of technical fire and building protection. In this area, INTERSCHUTZ specifically addresses experts in fire prevention – such as surveyors, planners and architects – as well as fire services. For them, knowledge of fire prevention is essential for their daily work. “Nowhere else do they meet in such large numbers as here in Hanover: emergency responders as users, decision-makers from municipalities, researchers, developers and manufacturers – each at an international level,” says Thilo Horstmann, Head of INTERSCHUTZ at Deutsche Messe AG.

At present, digital technologies and sustainable building materials are particularly in focus. Modern fire detection systems are increasingly connected and intelligent. Sensors, for example, detect smoke, heat or gases at an earlier stage and automatically report hazards to control centers or building management systems.

Numerous well-known organizations and companies will once again be represented. For example, Bavaria, one of the oldest and most experienced fire protection companies in Germany, will present itself on a large exhibition area. Some 55 years ago, Bavaria Egypt was founded as a German-Egyptian joint venture. Gloria will also be participating with portable fire extinguishers as well as large-scale firefighting equipment. Smoke and CO detectors manufactured in the company’s own facilities are among the products in particularly high demand. The Greek corporate group Mobiak is also among the leading companies in the manufacture and trade of fire protection products and medical devices.

The Anaf Group from Italy develops, manufactures and supplies innovative technologies, state-of-the-art products and services for fire protection. From the United Kingdom, companies such as Johnson Controls – with a comprehensive solutions portfolio for fire protection and security – and Clarke have announced their participation. Clarke markets what it describes as the world’s largest product range of diesel fire pump drivers. More than 200,000 engines from the brand have already been sold and installed worldwide.

First FEU Leadership Conference at INTERSCHUTZ 2026

With the first FEU Leadership Conference during INTERSCHUTZ 2026 in Hanover, the Federation of European Fire Officers aims to bring together European fire chiefs on 3 and 4 June 2026 in a premiere conference format. The organization expects more than 350 senior leaders from fire services and civil protection authorities from across Europe and around the world. The event follows the INTERSCHUTZ guiding theme “Safeguarding Tomorrow” and aims to create a leading European strategic platform for those shaping the future of European fire services and civil protection.

Amid a growing concentration of pressures – including hybrid threats, geopolitical instability, digital vulnerabilities, extreme climate events and rising expectations from citizens – the need for clear, forward-looking leadership has never been greater.

Over the two conference days, the FEU will bring together high-ranking representatives from the European Commission, NATO, national fire service and civil protection authorities, as well as international fire service leaders from the United States, Australia, Singapore and other countries. The discussions will focus on how European fire and civil protection authorities must evolve in order to remain operationally capable, resilient and strategically aligned in an increasingly disruptive world.
