Fully Automated Safety for Fire Pumps

With FACTS, the “Fully Automated Churn Testing System,” MECON has developed a fully automated testing and monitoring system for fire pumps. The system was specifically designed to perform the regularly required functional tests on fire pumps reliably, in compliance with standards, and without manual intervention.

FACTS is one of the world’s first systems of its kind to hold FM Approvals certification under FM 1330 and to meet the requirements of international standards such as NFPA 25 and FM 2-81. As such, the product is particularly aimed at operators of sprinkler systems and industrial fire suppression systems where maximum availability and legal compliance are required.

Automated Testing Processes Instead of Manual Routines

In traditional operations, churn tests require a significant amount of manpower, as they must be performed, monitored, and documented manually. FACTS replaces this process with a fully automated solution. The system handles the regular testing of both diesel- and electric-powered fire pumps and performs these tests without interrupting ongoing operations.

Automated execution not only ensures consistently reproducible test results but also reduces the risk of operator errors and omissions. At the same time, all relevant measurement and test data are continuously recorded and stored, ensuring that complete documentation is available at all times.
