Tradition Meets Innovation
C. Miesen GmbH & Co. KG looks back on an impressive history that began on June 1, 1870, with the founding of a wheelwright’s workshop by Christian Miesen in Bonn. What once began with the manufacture of horse-drawn carriages and flatbed trucks has, over more than 150 years, evolved into a world-leading specialist in the construction of specialty vehicles.
Today, the company—which, in addition to its headquarters in Bonn, has also operated a modern production facility in Dürnau since 2019—is internationally renowned for its high-quality emergency and funeral vehicles. With over 180 skilled employees, Miesen remains firmly committed to “Made in Germany” and combines traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art engineering to deliver customized solutions for aid organizations and government agencies.
A Versatile Portfolio for Emergency Response
At INTERSCHUTZ 2026 in Hanover, the long-established Bonn-based company will present a broad portfolio of modern emergency vehicles and system solutions. The focus is on practical concepts for emergency medical services, fire departments, and disaster response, designed to ensure maximum efficiency and operational readiness. Exhibits include, among others, an ergonomically optimized command vehicle (ELW) based on a panel van, as well as an emergency medical response vehicle (NEF) with specialized system equipment. In addition, a box-type ambulance (RTW) will be on display, designed to impress with modern technology and particularly practical equipment.
Innovation in Disaster Response: The RMRH System
A key highlight of the trade show presentation is the patented RMRH (Rolling Multi Rescue Health) system. This is a next-generation mobile solution for disaster response designed to set new standards in the speed of medical care. The RMRH swap body container enables the setup of a fully functional care facility in less than five minutes. The process is fully automated and remotely controllable, requiring supervision by only one person.
The self-contained unit is robustly constructed and can be deployed on virtually any level surface. Thanks to its standardized design, the system can be combined across countries and expanded modularly at any time. Inside, the module offers space to treat up to 16 patients on DIN stretchers or 12 intensive care patients. An integrated power supply, oxygen systems, and modern medical infrastructure create optimal working conditions for staff. Thanks to its flexible configurability, the system can function as an intensive care unit, a medical station, or an evacuation center.
Visions of the Future and International Exchange
The presentation is complemented by an innovative concept study that addresses future deployment scenarios in the event of large-scale disasters. With this exhibition, C. Miesen aims to deepen the dialogue with an international audience of experts and provide new impetus in the field of emergency response technology. Interested visitors can view the innovations and vehicles in person at booth E70 on the outdoor grounds and learn about the latest developments in special vehicle construction.
