Hydrocore have gained FM approvals which comply with British Standards (BS 8489):
1. Protection of Gas Turbines and Machinery in Enclosures (up to 260m³) – Hazards like internal combustion engines, oil pumps, generators, transformer vaults, gear boxes, drive shafts, lubrication skids, generators, etc.
2. Protection of Local Application – Hydrocore are one of the three companies globally to have these approvals! Water mist protection of local applications is considered a special protection system where the water is discharged directly or around the hazard to be protected.
3. Hydrocore have also passed FM fire tests for protection of Hazard Category 1 (HC-1) and plan to add additional approvals in 2020.
The company has access to extensive fire testing facilities. These include a 100m road tunnel, utility tunnel, metro station, transformer test station and an enclosed car park test area and have also conducted and successfully passed fire tests for:
• Open air transformer protection (up to 500kV)
• Road Tunnel Protection (150MW fire load, witnessed by TUV)
• Cable tunnel protection (witnessed by TUV)
