The BLÜCHER® CBRN Protective Undergarment Ensemble using SARATOGA® filter material consists of a shirt or jacket and a pair of pants type trousers and a separate balaclava type hood. When worn as a complete ensemble, the combination covers and protects the head and the entire body leaving an op-tion for the user to select complementary respirato-ry and hand protection.
Based on an air permeable technology incorporating spherical adsorbents, this Undergarment Ensemble addresses the needs of a range of users and pro-vides protection while keeping the burden as low as possible.
The Undergarment Ensemble is worn when the likelihood of a CBRN event is given (e.g. during cov-ert operations) but not confirmed, limiting exposure of individuals to hazardous substances in vapour form before they are detected. The ensemble can be also be worn underneath a specialised and in many cases certified uniform or work wear as an upgrade to provide CBRN protection (e.g. as a stand-by solu-tion for first responders and military forces).
This coverall has been customised to meet the chal-lenging operational conditions and requirements in all climatic environments. The highly air permeable system minimises heat stress and maximises wear time and mission capability while maintaining the superior CBRN protective performance. The en-semble has been designed to be easily donned and doffed (dressed and undressed). Requirements such as wear physiology, ergonomics and durability are of vital importance to the wearer and have been considered and implemented in the design.
