Hannover, Germany. On 19 and 20 June 2021, the FireFit European Championships will be staged during the INTERSCHUTZ Community Days at the Hannover Exhibition Center, as an event being co-organized by Deutsche Messe, the Hannover Company Sports Association and the functional shoe manufacturer HAIX. Enjoying ever-increasing popularity, firefighting sports events like the FireFit Championships competitions have been taking place in Germany and Europe for a number of years.

On four qualification days running from 14 to 17 June, male and female athletes will have the opportunity to qualify for the finals of the FireFit European Championships taking place on 19 and 20 June.

Following the Corona-induced cancellation of what was originally planned as an indoor event in December 2020, the summer event now offers international athletes an opportunity for direct, face-to-face competition.

In addition to the competitions, there will be an outdoor exhibition area featuring trends, products and solutions from the areas of emergency vehicles and personal protective equipment (PPE).

"The Hannover Exhibition Center meets all the criteria for a safe event, making this the ideal venue," remarks Martin Folkerts, INTERSCHUTZ Project Director at Deutsche Messe. "Following the rescheduling of INTERSCHUTZ to June 2022, we are delighted to be able to offer the industry a meeting place as early as this year in the form of the INTERSCHUTZ Community Days, and to be able to provide an opportunity for companies to showcase their innovations."

Both on site and via a live stream, fans of firefighting sports as well as fire brigade enthusiasts can follow the competition and learn about the latest trends being featured by participating exhibitors.
