Hannover/ Montichiari. REAS powered by INTERSCHUTZ has drawn to a close after an action-packed three days, providing a comprehensive overview of the current state of play in Italy's civil protection, emergency rescue and fire protection sectors. The show was attended by over 23,000 professionals and volunteers, among them a sizeable contingent of experts and sector leaders from Germany, and featured 170 exhibitors on some 24,000 square meters (over 258,000 sq.ft.) of display space. All in all a positive performance that confirms REAS as the leading event of its kind in the Italian market.
"A leading event in Italy that now has a European perspective" is how Angelo Borrelli, the head of Italy's Department of Civil Protection, described REAS during the show's opening ceremony. Borelli also emphasized the high standards of Italy's emergency management and civil protection sectors. That high standards are the result of synergetic cooperation was a point made by Claudio Berto, Commander of Italy's Alpine Troops Command, during his address at REAS. Among the representatives of the German cooperation partners in attendance at the show were Dirk Aschenbrenner, President of the German Fire Protection Association (GFPA), and Hartmut Ziebs, President of the German Fire Services Association (DFV). Ziebs: "REAS 2019 means innovation and ideas, plurality and networking between fire service professionals of all countries, across all borders. It has been a wonderful opportunity to dialogue with fellow fire service professionals from all around the world and to showcase the German fire service system."
The REAS organizers from Deutsche Messe AG were also very pleased with the show. "REAS is more than just a platform for bringing together supply and demand in the Italian market for the first aid and rescue services, firefighting and civil protection; it is an opportunity for networking, for the sharing of views and experiences among members of a community united by common values," said Andreas Züge, the General Manager of Deutsche Messe AG's Italian subsidiary, Hannover Fairs International. "The show in Montichiari has now established itself as a key platform where delegations and experts from a whole range of countries can gather to lay the foundations for sustained international cooperation."
The next REAS will be held from 8 to 10 October 2021 in Montichiari.
