When it comes to the operations of fire brigades and rescue services, having fast, reliable access to information can be a matter of life and death. That is why mobile information management and mobile data capture are playing an increasingly important role in ensuring personnel can access the information they need whenever and wherever they need it. Solunar GmbH evolved from the "Büro für Softwaretechnik", which was established in 2008, and is an independent software engineering company that specializes in programming mobile solutions that aim to deliver valuable information in the field and aid swift and accurate decision-making.

The software specialist from Gütersloh in Germany is showcasing not one but two new apps at INTERSCHUTZ 2015 in Hannover. The HYDRANTS APP provides rescue services with a quick overview of the potential sources of extinguishing water, wherever they are. It displays a map of all the access points to extinguishing water and hydrants in the local vicinity. The FIRE-FIGHTING PLAN APP is used as a digital tool for managing information on various buildings. It stores building plans and site diagrams, alarm and risk prevention plans, access routes, fire-extinguishing facilities and hazard areas in a central database, which can be accessed on the go using a tablet or smartphone. The FIRE-FIGHTING PLAN APP can be used online or offline – as long as it's kept properly up-to-date – so that it always provides the very latest information.
