Work of any nature out at sea inevitably comes with substantial and very specific risks, and it is absolutely crucial to have the right personal protective equipment (PPE) to meet these particularly high demands. From offshore crew transfers and service operations to rescue missions and other general work at sea, seemingly small discrepancies in quality can in fact make the crucial difference between life and death. SECUMAR rescue and protective clothing provides totally reliable quality that is regularly tested by independent bodies. Indeed, it is in frequent use by professional organizations such as the German Maritime Rescue Service (DGzRS), the German Life Saving Association (DLRG) and a number of fire departments. At INTERSCHUTZ 2015 in Hannover, the Schleswig-Holstein-based company is unveiling its new CONTRA 140 SOLAS work and survival suit.

Developed in close cooperation with users, the CONTRA 140 SOLAS can be combined with SECUMAR lifejackets to provide a reliable PPE system for all kinds of work at sea. The suit features a zipper-attached, removable thermal inner layer and a horizontal zipper across the stomach, making it exceptionally easy to put on and take off. What’s more, it is waterproof, breathable and clearly visible even in poor weather conditions, thanks to the use of bright yellow GORE-TEX® 3-layer laminate and additional SOLAS reflective tabs. Kevlar fabric reinforcements at the seat, knees and elbows as well as pockets for shock-absorbent knee pads offer extra protection for exposed areas.
