Time really is of the essence for rescue workers fighting fires and recovering survivors. And when a fire is raging in a location that is difficult to access using conventional rescue equipment, any time that is lost can cause the danger to develop and spread. The "first-strike firefighting concept" from Firexpress A/S is designed specifically for emergencies of this kind – and is on show at INTERSCHUTZ 2015 in Hannover.

The Danish company’s rapid-response "first strike" solution consists of a highly efficient extinguishing system mounted onto an all-terrain quad. The Firexpress ATV vehicle is equipped with a self-contained system that includes a pump unit, a 160-liter water tank, a 12-liter tank for foam, and a unique and patented dual nozzle capable of producing extremely small micro drops with an incredible range of up to 15 meters. The vehicle also features a hose suction system with a floating filter that can be used to extract water from external water sources such as rivers, lakes, the sea or any available water reservoir. What's more, a trailer or sleigh can be attached to the ATV and used to transport injured people across rough terrain to the nearest surfaced road.
