On May 10, 2026, downtown Hanover will be transformed into a massive emergency services fair: the fire department, police, emergency medical services, and numerous other organizations will offer a comprehensive look at their work and showcase their vehicles and state-of-the-art technology—coinciding with the Sunday shopping day.

The event offers authentic insights into the work of first responders and impressively demonstrates how modern emergency response and civil protection operate.
Whether you’re a family, a tech enthusiast, or just curious—there’s something for everyone here. In addition to impressive demonstrations and informative booths, numerous hands-on activities for children and adults ensure a varied experience. Organized by the Hanover Fire Department and the City Community, guests can also look forward to a fantastic show program featuring live music.
This makes the Sunday shopping event a real highlight for young and old alike—offering exciting behind-the-scenes glimpses into Hanover’s emergency services and the chance to meet the people who ensure our safety every day.
The Emergency Services Mile aims to showcase the work of all emergency services and their supporters in a way that captures the public’s attention and increases their visibility in society.
At the same time, it offers participating organizations a platform to vividly demonstrate their diverse responsibilities, technical equipment, and capabilities.
