A new record result for REAS 2023. In fact, over 29 thousand visitors (+16% compared to the previous edition in 2022) attended the important international exhibition dedicated to emergency, first aid and fire protection, which for three days saw the halls of Centro Fiera di Montechiari (Brescia) crowded with volunteers and professionals from Italy, 33 other European countries and the world. The number of exhibitors present was also increased with stands representing 265 companies, state bodies and institutions and associations (+10% compared with 2022) from Italy and 21 other countries, occupying a total of 33 thousand square metres of exhibition space. “We are enthusiastic about this new record result, which is a continuation of the constantly growing trend for our exhibition in recent years” Ezio Zorzi, managing director of Centro Fiera di Montechiari stated. “ REAS thus confirms itself as the leading exhibition in Italy in the emergency sector and among the most important on a European level. Once again this year, thousands of volunteers and professionals have been able to find the best in production, experience and technology available on national and global markets”.

“REAS 2023”, which closes this afternoon, was opened by Italian Civil Protection Department Head, Fabrizio Curcio. The 8 halls of the exhibition grounds showcased the latest in technological innovations, such as new products and equipment for first aid operators, special vehicles for civil protection and firefighting, electronic systems and drones for operations in the cases of natural catastrophes and aids for the disabled. Simultaneously to the three days of the exhibition there was also an extensive programme of over 50 conferences, seminars and workshops. Great interest was shown also in the “Europe FireFit Championships” the European competition dedicated to firefighters and volunteers in the fire protection sector. “We have already begun working on the next edition of REAS that will take place in a year’s time, specifically from October 4th to 6th, 2024”, Director Ezio Zorzi announced. “We are evaluating various projects and new initiatives that will allow the participation of the public and exhibitors to increase even more, as well as strengthen the international visibility of the exhibition”.

The “REAS” exhibition is organised by Centro Fiera Montichiari in partnership with Hannover Fairs International and with “Interschutz”, the leading global specialised exhibition that takes place in Hannover. “REAS 2023 has confirmed it is a catalyst for exchange on an international level, thanks also to a technical programme consisting of numerous conferences and seminars”, commented Andreas Züge, managing director of Hannover Fairs International. “In addition, the success of the Europe FireFit Championships was another excellent sign of the internationalisation of this exhibition.”

“This year’s exhibition was once again an excellent opportunity for our association to maintain and expand its international contacts” Wolfgang Duveneck, spokesperson for the German Association for the Promotion of Fire Protection (VFDB) stated for his part. “The exchange of know-how beyond national borders is more important than ever in the face of the increasing challenges faced by emergency services. REAS has yet again shown how important interpersonal relationships, which no videoconference can substitute, are. We cannot wait to participate in REAS 2024, but also to meet at Interschutz in Hannover in 2026”.
