Cable boxes consist of an enclosure made of sheet steel, lined with fire protection packages. The inside remains open. The boxes are sealed off with EasyFoam plugs at the front side.In case of fire the box seals automatically. The packages start foaming at 100° C.
During this process a pressure is created, which seals cables, plastic conduits and ductworks safely, without having an influence on walls or ceilings. The fire protection packages work independently of the smoke sealing. Therefore the cable box as a fire stop always works, even if the smoke sealing is missing as a result of refitting.
When laying cables, neither distances to edges nor distances between cables or conduits have to be considered. The inside can be filled completely. Furthermore it is impossible to overload the cable boxes. Consequently, numerous installation problems are barred.
When boxes are installed before the cable run, a fix opening is given for later wiring. Cables can no longer be run incorrectly. Expensive reworking and special solutions are no longer necessary.
For cable reconfiguration, the box does not have to be damaged, neither repaired afterwards.
The maintenance does not require special fire protection materials. Commercially available permanently elastic material, e.g. silicone or acrylic, is all you need.
If a foam plug has to be replaced, this will only make up a fraction of the maintenance costs of comparable systems. Moreover, foam plugs are very easy to install.
