Product description

The S81-HS system is intended for the protection, in complete safety, of high technologic and economic content plants and equipment.
Its main applications are: process plants, refineries, energy production factories, governmental and public applications, military and naval installations.

The S81-HS system allows the co-existence of state of the art technologies, that cover fire & gas detection to the technologic control, from antintrusion, CCTV security systems, and access control.

The S81-HS system has been designed to meet the heaviest functional reliability and availability requirements, particularly of the companies that operate in the field of energy production and transformation, where it shows excellent resistance to electromagnetic disturbances and a continuous operability in difficult environmental conditions.
Its capacity is demonstrated by the compliance with the requirements of fault tolerance set by the International Standards IEC 61508, and thanks to this compliance, it has obtained the level SIL3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) certified by a third party agency.

The S81-HS system looks like a safety PLC but, differently from this, it is certified by European bodies (IMQ), to perform the envisaged protection functions in compliance with the applicable regulations listed in the standards for the construction products (CPD e CPR) and in UL laboratories to meet the corresponding US standards.

The system is composed of specialised cards, installed in 19» racks, whose type and quantity depends on specific application requirements, i.e. on the plant/equipment to be protected.

The cards, which have their own «intelligence», are programmed for active/passive fire protection, gas detection, intruder alarm and technologic control management.

Moreover, the S81-HS can interact with other panels of the same type, as well as with supervisory and SCADA systems, through both proprietary and standard protocols, such as Ethernet TCP/IP and Modbus
