

Hans-Dietrich-Genscher Award and St John Ambulance Junior Award
Recognition for courage in the service of others: This year , Germany’s St John Ambulance (Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe) has once again awarded the Hans-Dietrich-Genscher Award and Johanniter Junior Award in honor of ordinary people who have done extraordinary things to save the lives of others.
The Hans-Dietrich-Genscher Award honors acts of selflessness by adults, and the Junior Award recognizes acts of bravery by budding young rescuers aged 18 or younger.

About the awards
Hans-Dietrich-Genscher Award
The Hans-Dietrich-Genscher Award has been presented under this name since 1997 and carries prize money of 2,500 euros.
St John Ambulance Junior Award
The Johanniter Junior Award has been presented since 2003 and carries a non-cash prize. Both awards are offered by the Lower Saxony/Bremen branch of the German St John Ambulance (Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe).
