New multifunctional belt Dräger PSS Safety Belt

Lübeck – The new multifunctional Dräger PSS Safety Belt increases safety in potentially dangerous situations by protecting the wearer of the device when working at heights. The multifunctional belt has been designed to be easily integrated into the self-contained (open-circuit) breathing apparatus (SCBA) Dräger PSS 5000 and 7000. It serves the user as a workplace positioning system, restraint system, and for self-rescue.

Previously, rescue teams needed to wear a fire service safety belt in addition to their SCBA, which could significantly impair the wearing comfort. Dräger developed the PSS Safety Belt as an integral system component of the SCBA. It replaces the original waist belt of the PSS 5000 or PSS 7000 with the same functionality of the individual components.

Developed for fire fighting missions

The aramid textiles used meet the relevant European approval requirements both for respiratory protective devices (DIN EN 137:2007/EN 137:2006 type 2) and for protective equipment (EN 358:2010). Users thus do not have to compromise with regard to safety or system integrity. At the same time, the PSS Safetybelt offers the proven wearing comfort and ergonomic fit of the Dräger PSS 5000 and 7000 series.

Quick to deploy and easy to use

The PSS Safety Belt offers the proven Dräger "slide and lock" attachment system to the waist belt. This facilitates easy removal and rapid servicing of the safety belt. It also simplifies the quick and easy upgrading of the existing Dräger SCBAs PSS 5000 and PSS 7000.

Lanyards can be quickly stored in the pouches on the left and right-hand side of the belt. The pouches are permanently attached to the belt and thus protect from getting caught and protect the lanyards from being damaged. They also enable quick and easy access. Thanks to the integrated D- rings, additional equipment can be attached to the waistbelt.

The PSS Safetybelt is manufactured by Dräger Safety AG & Co. KGaA
