The first Indoor FireFit Championships Europe worldwide!
Action-packed competition, a unique atmosphere and the most modern fire tower in Europe - that's what fans can expect at the premiere of the first Indoor FireFit Championships Europe in Hannover!
Pure adrenalin
At this world's first FireFit winter indoor event, an international field of participants from Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands, Ireland, Great Britain and Ukraine will take up the challenge to give their all in the individual race under breathing protection or to inspire as a team in the relay!
From 22 to 23 February, fire service sports enthusiasts will be sweating it out in Hall 2 at our exhibition centre in Hanover. Whether experienced top athletes or curious first-timers: all firefighters are invited to take up the challenge and give it their all.
Impressions 2025
These are the FireFit Championships powered by HAIX
Once at the top of the HAIX Tower, there is no time to enjoy the view: another 19-kilogram fire hose has to be pulled up before it goes down again. You can start as an individual, a tandem or a relay team of three to five firefighters.
The relay is a good introduction to firefighting. Team spirit is required here. The breathing apparatus is worn ‘loosely’ on the back - mask and breathing air connection are not required. The individual run is considered the supreme discipline, which demands everything while wearing breathing protection.
Fitness as life insurance
The competition is based on the tasks involved in firefighting operations: climbing stairs, dragging hoses, opening doors, rescuing people and extinguishing fires. Your own health can become your life insurance during breathing protection operations. This is why the FireFit is not only designed for top athletes, but for every firefighter. The stations push you to your physical limits, just like the real thing. Firefighting sport means facing the challenge not only physically, but also mentally.
It is particularly important to know your limits when using respiratory protection. When training in the open air, firefighters have the opportunity to stop at any time. This is not possible when working in a smoke-filled hall.
Finally, the final opponent awaits: Randy. Using the rescue grip, the 80-kilogram rescue dummy is carried backwards to the finish line. After 30 metres, you have to grit your teeth. At the end, a bang on the finish mat - done! No matter how - whoever crosses the finish line is a real hero.
