Together with SECUMAR lifejackets this work and survival suit forms a secure PPE system for all work on or above the water. The rough working day on or above the water is often associated with different risks and requirements for personal protective equipment. Offshore crew transfers or service works, rescue boat operations or general work at sea are only some of the possible applications of the SECUMAR work and survival suit type CONTRA 140 SOLAS, which was developed specifically for these demanding applications in close cooperation with our customers. The horizontal zip across the stomach, combined with the removable thermal inner suit (fixed by means of zippers), allows easy donning and ensures a comfortable fit. A separate zipper for letting urine is available on request. The waterproof and breathable suit is because of the use of bright yellow GORE-TEX® 3-layer laminate with additional SOLAS reflective tapes clearly visible, even in bad weather conditions and is equipped with Kevlar reinforced knees (with knee pad pockets and pads), seat and elbow. It is possible to choose between socks made of GORE-TEX® Taslan and Dunlop® Purofort® S5 safety boots, which are the best solution for dry feet, lightweight and durability, combined with the highest non-slip certification, SRC. However the main design feature is that it can be used with any suitable SECUMAR life jacket - in such a way as to be able to quickly check from the front that everything is in place and ready to hand. The suit in itself has no inherent buoyancy system. We therefore recommend an additional SECUMAR lifejacket according to DIN EN ISO 12402-2 or SOLAS regulations with a minimum of 275N buoyancy.
