Gas-fueled live fire training systems have become inherent parts of nearly every fire fighter's education these days. The systems offer the reality and intensity of real fires while being a t the same time fully controllable and thus free of nearly all risks. Additionally they are very cost effective and easy to use and minimize the environmental impact.
However in the past wildland fire training system were often claimed to be impossible to realize. The most commonly raised concern was that the large number of tree mock-ups in combination with the complicated fire place techniques necessary to simulate a wildland fire realistically would exceed every reasonable budget.
Kidde Fire Trainers accepted this challenge and will provide the customer with an innovative, functional and cost-efficient solution: A combination of 24 tree mock-up fires and 12 surface fires of different sizes - all constructed with Kidde's advanced fire training technology. The 12 surface fires will consist of 2 stationary wildfires covering an area of 120m² each and 10 smaller, portable ones of up to 10m² burn area each.
The fires simulated by this system will comprise such advanced scenarios as "crowning" - one of the most feared wildland fire phenomena where a fire jumps from the ground into the trees and begins to spread through the treetops overhead. Fire Fighters have to be specially trained to properly react to this threatening situation.
With this new Wildland FireTrainer®, Kidde Fire Trainers once again proofs its status as the most innovative company in the business.
