Semi-automatic tyre inflation system for heavy goods vehicles and trucks
The STIS is a time-tested system where the operator adjusts tyre pressure whilst the vehicle is stationary. After connecting the hoses - for each tyre there is a hose depot with a spiral hose or alternatively a connecting hose - the driver does not have to supervise the adjustment, but can work on other issues. The STIS is on offer ex works by leading manufactures such as Daimler Chrysler and MAN. Refitting is simple and can be done by any work-shop or by the buyer himself.
The STIS is based on a permanently fixed quick coupling system; it is connected with the pneumatic brake system so the tyre pressure can be adjusted any time anywhere.
The predominantly pneumatic control unit guaranties trouble free operations under even the hardest conditions. The unit works fast and is easy to handle. If the pre -dialled pressure is reached the adjustment process is halted and the systems keeps the chosen value until the hoses are dismantled.
Special quick coupling valves are mounted to the existing valves after the original insert have been removed. Thereby the speed of pressure change is increased. These valves are available in all common diameters. An option (at surcharge) is the fitting of special valves M15x1,
instead of the standard valve Vg8, which will reduce the time for deflation for further approx.
35 pct. There are two versions (straight and angular).
For twin tyres we offer a special set to connect both tyre valves to one quick coupling valve (also at surcharge). Here both tyres can be adjusted with one Hose depot. Damaged tyres can be separated from the system by ball cocks.
The system is connected to the four-circuit protection valve (port 24) of the pneumatic brake system.
