GfS Exit Control 179 with pre-alarm secures emergency exits
Certified emergency exit solutions allow to get quickly out of the building while creating an inhibition threshold against the possible abuse. The GfS Exit Control 179 which is manufactured and sold by the emergency exit specialist GfS from Hamburg/ Germany has been tested by the MPA North Rhine -Westphalia and certified acc. to EN 179.
The GfS Exit Control 179 is mounted below the door handle and secures it. In case of emergency, the door handle can be pushed down and the door will open (one hand operation). The GfS Exit Control 179 moves down vertically. The escape route is free.
To increase the inhibition threshold, the GfS Exit Control 179 can be equipped with a pre-alarm. While the door handle slightly touches the GfS Exit Control 179, a non-permanent alarm is triggered. Once the user releases the door handle, the alarm expires. The pre-alarm helps to avoid main alarms, which disturb the daily operation. It is an effective additional inhibition threshold in areas where people are not familiar with the GfS Exit Control.
When the door handle is fully pushed down the emergency exit door can be opened. A permanent alarm of approx. 100 dB / m is triggered. The alarm can be reset and the GfS Exit Control 179 can be moved into its original position only by using the device key. Sometimes the emergency exits have to be used for a longer period of time. In this case the GfS Exit Control can be moved into the permanent release position with the device key. It is also possible to pass the emergency exit just once without triggering an alarm. To do this, the panic lock key has to be turned to the right so that the alternating function of the panic lock can be used.
Due to its solid, screw-free metal housing, the GfS Exit Control 179 is durable, low in maintenance and protected against tampering. The GfS Exit Control 179 comes with a 5 year warranty.
