Cordia invented Smartway, a patented communications protocol. Smartway links a touch-screen tablet to a range of training devices and makes it possible to activate the various training tools, while monitoring in real time the state of each device (on, off, successful extinguishing, etc.). It is from this link between Smartway and the ensemble of Cordia's training material that the notion of Intelligent and Tactile (IT) training was formed.
With the Log to Smartway application on a tablet device, users are able to configure training sessions in advance and save them to a calendar, access the driving commands of all training tools, validate the performance of trainees, and automatically generate reports of all sessions.
The training tablet is equipped with the built-in Log to Smartway application, specially developed to simplify the work of trainers by reducing the administrative steps of setting up a programme of firefighting training. The application enables users to manage training planning, prepare training sessions in advance, generate automatic performance for each trainee, and archive the results of each session. The trainer is also able to pilot several training tools with a single finger, combining flames, smoke and sound to recreate a realistic environment.
The full range of Cordia training material is Smartway compatible, and can be identified by the names ending in 'it', standing for Intelligent and Tactile. Satellit is the newest range of high-tech flame generators; Opacit is the newest range of smoke generators; and Stressit is the only product on the market capable of efficiently simulating stressful situations. As well as being Smartway compatible, each of the products can also be used independently.
