The Berlin fire brigade is on duty twenty-four hours a day, in all weathers to provide the best possible assistance as quickly as possible in case of
accidents, fires and other emergencies. And our help is often needed: we receive around one thousand calls a day to help people in distress, quickly and professionally.
Some 80 percent of our daily call-outs are in the field of emergency medical rescue, i.e. in the treatment and care of injured or severely ill people. To be able to cope with the high volume of call-outs, some 100 ambulances are available 24 hours a day.
The Berlin fire brigade is also responsible for disaster management, i.e. for providing aid in the case of major incidents involving large areas and many victims.
