Lübeck-based protecfire GmbH unveils its innovative detexline 4912 fire safety system for buses at INTERSCHUTZ 2015.

Based in Lübeck but operating all over the world, protecfire GmbH is one of the most innovative companies around when it comes to fire safety and early fire detection. protecfire extinguishing systems offer a perfect combination of easy handling, low maintenance requirements and outstanding fire safety – without losing sight of cost factors, either. Examples of protecfire’s key application areas include extinguishing systems for wind turbine plants, solutions for mining and tunnel vehicles approved for underground mining, and VdS-certified fat fire extinguishing systems for use in the catering industry. At INTERSCHUTZ 2015 in Hannover, the company is unveiling its innovative detexline 4912 fire safety system for buses.
In thermal terms, engine compartments are anything but consistent. The different temperature zones call for highly sophisticated temperature measurement and detection – after all, high temperatures that are perfectly tolerable around the exhaust system can pose a significant fire hazard close to electronic components. To aid with detection, protecfire has therefore divided the engine compartment into different temperature zones and thermally categorized the fire detection elements in line with this temperature profile. What's more, the system works fully independently – neither the detection nor extinguishing components require an external power supply. The use of fine-spray nozzles developed in-house ensures optimized extinguishing results even without high pressure, meaning the system can remain unpressurized while in operation, too.
