There is hardly any other job where physical fitness is as crucial as it is for fire service professionals. The challenges encountered in rescue operations are far more physically demanding than most couch potatoes could ever imagine. Fortunately, the latest digital technologies deliver an extensive range of options for monitoring and recording personal fitness levels as accurately as possible. Launched as a startup in 2013, ambiotex has added a particularly clever solution to the options available. The Mainz-based pioneers of wearable technology are at INTERSCHUTZ 2015 in Hannover with an innovative high-tech shirt that records and analyzes vital physiological data with clinical precision.
The ambiotex shirt can analyze parameters such as heart rate variability (HRV), for instance, and can also carry out fitness and stress tests. It can even measure individual anaerobic threshold (IAT), eliminating the need for a lactate test conducted by a medical professional. What's more, an alarm button can be used to transfer precise geo-data via GPS along with fall detection information supplied by a special sensor. The key benefit for users lies in having access to a comprehensive monitoring system and enhanced control over their own health. Thanks to the ambiotex app's compatibility with widely used software systems and its integration into apps such as Apple HealthKit, other apps will also be able to make use of data recorded by the shirt in future.
