Lifeguards at INTERSCHUTZ
At Stand A16 in Hall 3, the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) will be presenting the latest innovations in flood response and water rescue, many of them the result of lessons learned during emergency responses to flooding along Germany's Oder and Elbe rivers in recent years. The exhibits include a newly developed medical equipment truck and new levee stabilization techniques. The latter involve laying waterproof membranes along the river side of levees and will be demonstrated using a highly realistic model. The team will be talking about the DLRG's new swiftwater rescue groups and - a subject close to the hearts of firefighters - the safe use of waders in flood situations. In addition, the Sachsen district division of the DLRG will showcasing a disaster rescue boat and a crane truck at Stand B17 on the openair site.
