Central Command for Maritime Emergencies (CCME)

The Association of German Maritime Fire Services (AGF See) is partnering with the German Central Command for Maritime Emergencies (CCME) and the German Navy to run a joint presentation (Stand C50/Hall 1) on firefighting and rescue at sea. The central focus is a recreated 14m ship's hull in a 6m x 9m body of water, where joint rescue crews will be staging demonstration missions and exercises several times a day. Victims will be hauled to safety by simulated helicopter winches, rescue baskets and boat rescue nets. There will be demonstrations of life raft deployments, sea survival suits, and first aid for victims of accidents at sea.

Visitors to the fair will have the chance to get in on the action and win prizes in knot-tying competitions, quizzes, etc.
